The basis of Sophie's thesis is about using her 1 minute improvisational blocks and teasing/working the ideas into new compositional pieces. The end result is music with the feel and flow of improvisation expanded into full length compositions for her ensembles.

Slingstones
'Slingstones' is designed to experiment with visual reference and effective elements such as transitory passage through time, fiercely dynamic event and textural expressions on electric keyboard and piano. The writing progress of 'Slingstones' has included transcribed work of the live playing by two performers in a practical perspective, but the initial structure of the improvisational composition remained.
